Tony was our guide and host in Sydney. On our first day of exploration, it was wet and windy. Our ferry ride to Manly island exposed the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge under a cloud cover with no sunshine. In spite of the weather, we continued exploring Sydney; we took a bus ride to Bondi Beach which was unusually deserted as it was a rainy day.

The next day was sunny; we walked along the city streets of Sydney that appear to be like any other urban centre with crowds of people jostling to get to places. We strolled along Darling Harbour. Later that evening, we had dinner at Michael and Vivian's home--Michael being a Nairobi neighbour of mine who I had not seen for 40+ years.
After four days in Sydney, it was time to resume our drive through Australia towards Canberra.
