The Loneliness in Lydia Erneman's Life by Rune Christiansen - Fiction

Rune Christiansen, in his translation of The Loneliness in Lydia Erneman's Life portrays Lydia's life as one of solitude. It is a life of joy and contentment.  She is a veterinarian by profession who travels to various farms successfully treating the animals.  It is set in Northern Sweden.

The author illustrates, through examples and anecdotes, how loneliness can be far from tragic or sad.  It is a way of life that suits certain personalities.  There is peace and calm throughout the novel that some of us can identify with, while others may find it a simple and ordinary life.

It is a refreshing tale with no mystery, suspense or drama.  It is beautifully written that explains the feeling of great pleasure and happiness in this kind of nature-loving lifestyle away from the bustle and hassle of city noises within the concrete jungle of varying building structures.

The Loneliness in Lydia Erneman's Life was a joy to read.
